Monitoring race and ethnicity

Information about the National Probation Service Race and Ethnicity Monitoring  Pdf (file size 14KB)

The National Probation Service aims to stop racial discrimination and make sure that everyone has equal opportunity in the service.

To do this we need to know the race and ethnic group of the people we supervise.

This will help us to offer a fair and proper service to all minority ethnic groups.

What questions will I be asked?

  • You will be asked about your cultural background.
  • There are also some questions about language and religion.

Do I have to answer them?

You do not have to answer any questions that you don't want to.  We hope you will
answer them all because what you tell us will help us to make sure your needs
are met.

The Director General wishes to make sure that the National Probation Service
provides a fair service to every individual that we supervise.

Thank you for helping us achieve this.
